Oh. My. God. Mine at Last.
The Frye Harness Mid-Calf 12R in Tan? Well what can I say? I am one satisfied woman thank you very much. And for someone who's never had a shoe fetish--I've had the same pair of shoes for a decade--I'm beginning to grow an obsessive love affair with Frye products.
First understand that this is the first time I've ever bought shoes on line and for [...] bucks (+ shipping)....? Really ouch. But my god. Heaven. Not only did they come super fast but exactly as the pictures showed. Plus I am the world's pickiest shoe buyer hence 10 year old shoes...
I'm barely 5'3 pretty short but I've got stocky legs and large calves. And while I fell in love with the boot style while abroad in Greece and enviously saw how the Greek women could pull it off so well I just couldn't find a pair that fit over my large calves (which is about 14-14.5" circum). After two years and I swear a million tries I decided what the hell go for the expensive Fryes. And I hate shelling out dough for shoes. Hate. It. But...
Once I saw these had to have. And boy nearly perfect. Feminine but tough looking solidly built and nice thick leather. I still can't get over it. They fit over my calves about mid-calf just as it's supposed to though just a little tighter than I would have liked. But after months of wearing there's now enough room so that there's no pinching. Considering most boots that go past the ankle not to mention my he-man calves was always a no-go for me well...I was more than pleased. And I've been told by others that they wear and stretch wondrously. The toe is a little more narrow than I'm used to and the heel a bit roomier. I have a wide foot so I got a half size larger. And surprisingly I walk just fine and not too much movement or shifting. They're incredibly sturdy on ice or even soft areas even stiff and unworn I felt awesome. The leather is supple well crafted AND made in the good ol' US of A so I felt really patriotic flashing these around. N.B. These days everything seems to be outsourced to a different country some Fryes (especially the tall boots that go past low calf)are made in Mexico so the sizes can be tricky.
Also I've always had a wide foot so that's why the toe is a little more narrow than I'm used to but while others said the size was a bit larger for them for my wide feet perfect. The narrowness will break in your feet--what I mean is that if you have a wide foot that bone that makes up your pinky toe will get a little sore after repetitive wear. If you wear them sporadically and not daily or often this will persist so get your feet used to them and walk around in them for awhile. Afterwords it'll feel like your those shoes were made for your feet!
Someone mentioned the weight yes a bit heavy but easy to get used to if you wear them on a regular basis Once you break in the shoes and your shoes your feet it's smooth sailing and it doesn't take long. Either way didn't deter me in the slightest. Also thick socks will help fill the space if you have a wide foot like I do and you are forced to get a half size up but get breathable socks your feet will stay plenty toasty. This is paramount for the warmer weather get socks that have breathable construction or light weight specially made for warm/hot weather.
If you check their site these boots aren't listed and the nearest ones to them were nearly [...] bucks alone. When I went to the only store out of god knows how many (and I tried a few on and that's how I knew the calves would be wide enough) the ones that were similar to these were also priced around [...] bucks. And knock offs why bother get the real deal. When I compared the two at the store the difference is so obvious it's obscene. Even I who buy cheap cheap shoes was blown away by the quality and craftsmanship. That's what really bowled me over seeing them feeling them and weighing them in my hands. Real shoes people. Real. Shoes.
And I wasn't aware of it but several of my aunts and uncles have only worn Frye boots and absolutely swear by them. They last forever when taken care of and even if you're a bit lazy still last. You just can't go wrong. One my uncles has had a pair for almost 20 years and the leather is nice and soft with a nice worn look from over the years and molded perfectly for his feet and legs.
Care - Remember if you're wearing them all the time and on hard surfaces the heel and soles will wear quickly. So have a good shoe repair place in mind otherwise the boots will be ruined--forever. To soften up the leather clean it and to protect it use saddle soap once a month. If the calf circum is too tight you go to your local shoe repair shop and ask them to stretch them out. You can do it yourself but I wouldn't risk it not unless you know what you're doing.
All in all. A new obsession has bloomed and it's called F-R-Y-E. And I'm already thinking of buying another pair...

EXCELLENT
I recently got a pair of these boot(ies). I needed warm shoes as I live in Colorado. I have owned many shoes and boots from top of the line brands and none have kept my feet as warm and dry as these. I have had UGGS and these are BETTER! They keep my feet warmer. I went shopping on black Friday when it was literlly 2 degrees outside with the wind whipping making it colder and the snow falling didn't help much. I wore these boots out on that trip without socks (no need for socks with the slipper-like insides) and my feet were the only warm part of my body! It really was amazing and I will never buy any other boot. I wear them constantly and they still look brand new. I could talk about these all night they really are a wonderful product at an excellent price.
I will agree with the other reviewers that they are difficult to get on when they are new but hang in there they will mold to you after a few times of taking them on and off. It is well worth the wait and trouble.

Great Looking Boot -- So-So Quality
I absolutely HAD to have these boots when I saw them on Zappos. Got them from amazon cause they were cheaper and they arrived yesterday. They were just as hot in person as I imagined UNTIL I closely examined them. You can see the glue in places where the sole meets the shoe on one of the boots the area cut out around the zipper is jagged and messy the top flap on one boot is slightly off in color and there are minor color imperfections on each boot. To an average person just looking at the boot they look perfectly fine and those above things arent noticeable. But to a person who just paid $150 for a pair of boots -- they are noticeable. Unfortunately or fortunately for Amazon I want these boots bad enough to accept the defects and not return them since there's no guarantee the replacement pair will be any better. BUT I wanted the rest of the buying public to be warned. I went to Macy's looking for these same boots yesterday and found them (not in my size) and compared the quality of those boots to the ones I got -- WAY BETTER QUALITY. So I think that whomever manufactured these boots didn't do as great of a job as they would have if the boots were going to Macys. BE WARNED.

Indoor/Outdoor Houseshoes
I bought the UGG houseshoes for my 16-year-old niece. For some reason that I will never understand all the kids wear them everywhere. Yes they wear them outside to school the mall whatever. And you cannot refer to them as houseshoes. . .they are moccasins. The fact that I was able to locate the "moccasins" during the Christmas holidays upped my Cool Aunt status considerably. Frankly I thought they were a great pair of houseshoes and better quality than most. If you want to be really trendy buy the moccasins and wear them to the grocery store.

Very cute boots
These boots are very cute - I always get compliments on them. A few things to note the fur lining is not throughout the boot there's some at the top (of course) none on the calf but then some for cushioning for your foot. Also although many people said they run big and you should buy a smaller size I'd have to disagree. I originally bought them a size smaller and ended up having to return them. I find them true to standard sizes.

Sorel Cumberland is fantastic
I bought the Sorel Cumberland boots form Amazon just over a week ago. I live in New Zealand and spend as much time in the snow in winter as possible.
Firstly the delivery was fantastic. The boots went through 3 different countries before they got here and the whole process only took 5 days!
Secondly the boots look great and are incredibly warm and comfortable. I was a little worrried about getting the size correct but went to the Sorel website measured my feet and worked out from the sizing graph which size to get. The fit is perfect.
Thank you Amazon and Backcountry I am truly impressed with your speed and service.

Timberland Women's Lexiss Street Boot -- 'These boots were made for walkin'
Based on other's reviews of this boot I was leery of buying without being able to try them on. What may help others interested in this boot is the following: I am 5'10" and am very athletic (full contact sparring in Tae Kwon Do; other sports). I have 17" calves wide feet high instep and a flexible/flat arch. I have had foot surgery (bunionectomy) so I am very careful about the types of shoes I wear.
I have never ever been able to find a boot that fit my claves. This boot FITS!! The top of the shaft falls about 1.5" below my knee. I wear tights with them and had to work at getting the right boot zipped up the first few wears but they are fabulous leather and have relaxed a bit (I can even wear sock liners with my tights for extra warmth).
Because I am curvy and athletic I don't know that I'll ever be able to tuck my jeans into the boots but I really don't care. They are comfortable warm have survived a pretty rugged midwest winter with lots of snow/ice/arctic cold blasts. I wear them with skirts (short or long) dress pants & jeans fall/winter capri-type pants. If I could sleep in them I would. If I had a million dollars I'd buy a pair in every available color. I've searched for a boot like this for at least 3 decades -- These babies totally ROCK! They may not be the classic shiny leather rider's boot but I certainly feel a little Nancy Sinatra coming on :)

Best rain boots I've found.
I just got these boots and I love them. I looked at a lot of other rain boots before I selected these because I wanted something that was going to keep my foot warm and dry and not going to fall apart after a few months. These boots are waterproof lined sturdy and look cute with jeans tucked into them. They're warm enough for winter walks but also appropriate for the rest of the year. Definitely a quality boot.

Excellent boots - but they run large.
I love these boots they are warm comfortable and still look great after trudging through a snowdrift or slushy street. The only reason they are not 5 stars is that the fit seems to run large. I wear a 6.5 - 7 normally and wear a 6 in this boot even with thick socks. I would suggest sizing down when you purchase a pair.

The Perfect Style-Meets-Comfort Boots
The Ugg Bailey Button is definitely a must-have. You really get what you pay for with these bad boys - quality style and the UTMOST comfort are out of the question. Delivery came on-time and the item came in perfect condition. Very very happy with this purchase! :)
Note: You might want to go a half-size smaller when getting these boots.

Bearpaw is a stylish Ugg alternative at a great price!
I love these Bearpaw brand boots. They are very similar to the popular Ugg-style boots at a much better price! Bearpaw's Eva boots are comfortable and warm. They can be worn with or without socks. The sheepskin lining makes them feel like a slipper inside! These boots are actually available in 8" 10" and 12" heights and the top edge can be rolled down to show off the furry lining.

Great boots for winter keep feet warm
I love these boots! They keep my feet nice and warm. They are also comfortable too! Wish they were cheaper because the chestnut pair I have were bought at Boscov's were only $40.00 but 20.00 dollars more is worth it for these boots! I love Amazon!

Even better than my UGGS!!!!!
I have one pair of Uggs and wanted another but couldn't justify the price so I ordered the Bearpaw 8 inch boot in chocolate and they are exactly the same as my Uggs but even BETTER because they are half the price!!! Side by side literally everything is the same: the quality the cuddliness and warmth of the inside lining the support etc. These are an amazing boot for all seasons- I like them with jean skirts in the summer/spring (they keep the feet cool) and with leggings and jeans in the winter/fall (they keep the feet warm and dry)!
I HIGHLY recommend the Bearpaw boots especially over the Uggs anyday! Hmmm since the price is so much lower than Uggs and I love them so much can I justify another color? :)

Great alternative to Uggs
I just bought a pair of these 10" Dream 405 style from shoe pavilion today for $39.99. I think they are so great and comfortable! I tried on the 160 Uggs ultra short earlier in the day which looks almost the same and guess what? BearPaw Dream is even more comfortable than Uggs' ultra short since ultra short feels a little too tight. Uggs' classic short ($120) is still the most comfortable tho but its style which is more rounded and doesn't have a 2nd line around the edges is a little outta date.
These BearPaw Dreams serve as a great alternative to the new Uggs ultra short. Its shaft is a little taller than Uggs as well which I think is smart because then it looks better with pants tugged in.
Caution: if you wear 1/2 sizes go one size up. Don't expect these comfortable shoes to have bigger rooms inside. I used to wear 6 or 6.5.. but I have to return a pair and get a 7.

The REAL Aussie Uggs!!!
To those saying these are a cheap substitute for real Australian uggs DO YOUR RESEARCH! These are one of the ONLY ugg boots available on the US market that are made with 100% Australian sheepskin unlike others that claim to be Australian (even including it in their brand name) but are really an American owned company who get their boots made in China and don't use 100% Australian wool products the only use a small percentage and substitute the rest with inferior blends.
These boots are not meant to be washed and the will be very snug when you first put them on as the wool takes a few days to mold around our foot. If you are planning on wearing these outside you should waterproof them. Ugg boots were originally designed to be like a slipper you wont get many self-respecting Australians wearing them outside unless they don't care what they look like the name "Ugg" comes from UGLY!
As an Australian these are the only ugg boots I would buy outside of Australia and I wouldn't be caught dead in those inferior substitutes that call themselves Australian but cost twice the price.

soft and warm
i got these read reviews still find them comfy and cozy and just had them for a trip to colorado where i tromped about in the snow in them.
aside from the fact thaat they need to be sealed against the wet they were fabulous for that day and even surprised me in how they maintained great footing in the snow. apparently the new snow tires are also made of 'soft rubber' and that was fabulous as we hiked up rocks which my friends in their proper snow gear found very slippery i felt like a gazelle.

LOVE THESE BOOTS!
I will admit to being a bit skeptical about purchasing shoes over the internet. I am a visual person :) so I always like to know how something is going to look on me before buying. ( I hate having to deal with returning/shipping items as well)
I had checked out some department stores and some other shops at the mall. I did go to Steve Madden at the mall and I saw these boots and wanted to try them on but sadly they did not have my size. They were exactly what I was on the hunt for. :)A simple classy and stylish boot that would not kill my feet if I were to wear them all day. :) So imagine my heartbreak when yet again my long size 10 feet were turned away. ;)
I decided to try Amazon since I had some luck in the past finding items on here though shoe wear was never something I thought I'd buy on this site.......well I am so glad I did because not only was my size available I got them for $15.00 cheaper!! Even better! (Free shipping too!:)
These boots are heaven to my feet. :) I love the length (I have longer legs so I was worried where these would exactly fall on me they fall just below my knee) I like the slight "positioned" slouch they have to them. These boots do not "pull down" when you walk in them they stay put. With my previous pair of knee length boots I was always having to pull them up as they would "fall" after a bit. These don't do that.
They are very comfortable to walk and be in. They are simple yet so stylish! I like the flat heel it really makes for a comfortable fit. I have some high heeled boots but after so long your feet start screaming for a break. :) You'll wear these all day without any tears. :)
I also recommend getting a suede protector spray I got these in black and with most suede boots it will pick up dirt....you're going to want protect these lovely boots for as long as you can! :)

Great for those chilly fall mornings.
I was reluctant to purchase these unless I found them on sale but after trying them on and wearing them for a bit I woulda payed full-price for these boots. They are the perfect "walk-your-kids-to-school" boots especially now that fall is here. They are stylish without being too fussy and comfortable just like slippers and warm while still letting your feet breath. My only concern is keeping them still looking new as the knit material can attract dirt. I originally got them in a light pink and later got them in grey. I find myself wearing the grey more often as the neutral colour matches well.
I recommend ordering down if you're a half size (ie. 7.5 order a 7) or sticking with your regular size if you're a solid number (ie. 8 should order 8). The liner does flatten out a bit after wearing and the knit does stretch a bit as well but not enough to size down a complete size.

A comfortable and budget-friendly alternative
My husband bought the Bronte Lo in black for me for Christmas and I've worn them just about every day since. I also have a pair of tall Uggs which I find have less arch support than my EMUs--they're both very comfortable and provide equal warmth but I'd choose the EMUs if I was planning on walking around NYC all day.
There's really no difference in look so if that's what you're after these will save you $60+ over comparable Uggs. But remember these are suede with a wool lining whereas Uggs and the next level up for EMU the Stinger are sheepskin in and out (which is softer). To me the wool lining is soft enough to wear without socks and the suede upper is thicker and will look newer longer than the sheepskin. I like both versions but if you're on a tight budget you will definitely get your money's worth with the Bronte.
EMUs run a little big and wide and they will stretch (plus the wool will compress) within a week so by all means size down. I'm a true 8.5 ordered an 8 and they're roomy enough to fit a thick sock. Do yourself a favor and spray them with a leather/suede protector before wearing them outside to prevent water salt and mud stains.
